3D aircraft models

When the map shows another pilot's aircraft as its real type (for example an Airbus A380 or a Cessna 172), the 3D model is based on the AI traffic models of the FlightGear flight simulator project (https://gitlab.com/flightgear/fgdata), created by the FlightGear contributors and licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2. We modified them (simplified, landing gear and airline liveries removed, recoloured, lights added). The models are not part of the app: it downloads them when needed, together with a notice of their authors, and the source of the modified models and of our conversion is published at the same place.

Terrain data

The app contains a coarse terrain grid for Europe, derived from the Copernicus DEM GLO-90, to compare a flight's altitude with the height of the ground. Produced using Copernicus WorldDEM-90 © DLR e.V. 2010-2014 and © Airbus Defence and Space GmbH 2014-2018 provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA; all rights reserved.

Fonts

The app bundles the fonts Space Grotesk and Chakra Petch, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. They are not loaded from the internet.
